A New Bee Species Has Been Named After Jim Parsons’ “Big Bang Theory” Character
Scientists have named a new bee species after Dr. Sheldon Cooper, the fictional physicist who Jim Parsons plays on "The Big Bang Theory". Specifically, it was named after Sheldon's catchphrase: "Bazinga!"
The species' full name is: "Euglossa bazinga."
One of the show's producers says Sheldon would be "honored" by this, because, quote, "After 'Mothra' and griffins, bees are his third-favorite flying creatures."
