Anheuser-Busch Swaps Distributorships with Standard Sales
Odessa-based Standard Sales is entering new territory through a swap with Anheuser-Busch’s newly purchased American Eagle Distributing in Loveland, Colorado.
Due to a new Kentucky state law, Anheuser-Busch is transferring its Louisville and Owensboro distributorships to Standard Sales.
In exchange, Anheuser-Busch will receive three of Standard Sales’ nine currently owned distributorships. Standard Sales owns distributorships in Odessa, San Angelo and Lubbock, Texas; Olive Branch, Mississippi; Alamosa, Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Littleton and Durango, Colorado. It was not stated which distributorships would change hands.
Anheuser-Busch had owned its Louisville distributorship since 1978, and in 2014 had purchased a second distributor in Owensboro, Kentucky. After the purchase in Owensboro, the Kentucky General Assembly responded by banning brewers from owning distributors.
