Back in October, Netflix announced that they had signed Adam Sandler to star in four original movies that would premiere exclusively on their streaming service. Today, we have news on Sandler’s first project under this partnership; a western-comedy titled ‘Ridiculous 6’ that stars such familiar Sandler faces as Rob Schneider, Nick Swardson, Steve Buscemi, Jon Lovitz and Vanilla Ice as Mark Twain.
Sorry, Star-Lord. Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ was just passed by ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ as the highest grossing film of 2014. And, making that feat all the more impressive: ‘Mockingjay’ reached that mark in just 62 days, without the help of 3D or IMAX.
Every year, when the Oscar nominations are announced, a considerable amount of time is spent debating who was snubbed. But for every film that was expecting to get nominated and didn't, there's a film that no one was expecting to get nominated and did. This is the story of those films. The movies you'll look back on and wonder exactly how the heck it ever got nominated for an Oscar.
Christian Bale has abruptly pulled out of Danny Boyle's planned Steve Jobs biopic, just two weeks after entering discussions with Sony Pictures and Boyle over playing the iconic Apple CEO. Though Bale hadn't officially signed for the part (and hadn't even begun contract negotiations), his participation was considered a near certainly and his unexpected departure is another casting blow for the project, which already had Leonardo DiCaprio turn down the starring role.
As successful as 'Guardians of the Galaxy' was at the box-office (and, as the highest-grossing film of the year, it certainly was that), the film's iconic soundtrack was equally as successful. "Awesome Mix Vol. 1" spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and is currently the 10th largest selling album of 2014. You've been able to buy the digital album, the CD, vinyl and even a "Deluxe Edition," but so far, no actual cassette like the mix tape in the film. But, that's all about to change.
It's inevitable: one day there will be an 'Avengers' reboot. It's hard to think of now, as 'Avengers 2' hasn't even hit theaters and Phase 3 of Marvel's Cinematic Universe hasn't even begun yet. But, once Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner all play through their contracts, Marvel is going to have to start over. Now, we don't think Marvel would ever reboot 'The Avengers' as a 70s detective TV series, but if they did? It'd look a lot like this...
The 'Star Wars: Episode 7' set in Abu Dhabi was described as being so far out in the middle of the dessert that it would be near impossible to get paparazzi shots of the top secret set. What they apparently didn't count on was one of the film's e
While we're still not sure what Quentin Tarantino's next film will be, the director was at the Cannes Film Festival and revealed he's looking to revisit one of his previous films. The director told an audience at a press conference celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Cannes premiere of 'Pulp Fiction' that he's got about 90 minutes of unseen footage from 'Django Unchained' that he would like to adapt into a 4-hour/4-part cable miniseries.
As you may have heard, 'Star Wars: Episode 7' will be filming in Abu Dhabi for a few months this summer, as the UAE capital stands in for Tatooine, the home planet of Luke Skywalker. With production set to begin next month, work on the Tatooine set has already begun and today we have our first ever 'Star Wars: Episode 7' set photos, and look which classic 'Star Wars' vehicle is back!
Let's be honest: the last two 'Die Hard' movies were almost unwatchable. There's little Fox could do to get us excited for a 'Die Hard 6' at this point, but what little there is to do, they're at least trying to do. Early reports suggest that Fox is working on a 'Die Hard 6' story that would reunite John McClane (Bruce Willis) and Zeus Carver (Samuel L. Jackson), the co-stars of the last good 'Die Hard' movie.
When a big-screen, CG-animated 'Peanuts' movie was announced, many people groaned a hearty "good grief!," worried they would ruin the cartoon classic. But, today we get a first look at Charlie Brown and Snoopy in the 'Peanuts' movie and, you know what? It looks very faithful to the classic Charles Schultz design.
