Bill Murray has been doing weird things so long that even the weirdest things he does don't seem weird anymore. That's why it strikes me as perfectly normal that he's doing his own TV Christmas special.

He says, quote, "It’s not going to be live. We're going to do it like a little movie. It won't have a format, but it's going to have music. It will have texture. It will have threads through it that are writing. There will be prose."

It's being directed by Sofia Coppola, who directed Bill in the 2003 movie "Lost in Translation".

There's no word yet when or where it'll air.

Meanwhile, "Variety" has a great piece on Bill, where he reveals that he has finally joined the digital age...although typically, he's still 10 years behind the times. Because he went out and got himself a BLACKBERRY.

He got it to communicate with his kids because, quote, "they will not answer a phone call, but they will answer a text."

(We recently heard about the crazy process people have to go through to get a hold of Bill.)
