The making of the most recent album by Bruce Springsteen will be the subject of a new documentary. 'Bruce Springsteen's High Hopes' will air on HBO on April 4 at 9:30PM, the network announced today.

Directed by Thom Zimny, who has helmed many Springsteen concert films and documentaries over the past decade, 'Bruce Springsteen's High Hopes' will chronicle the process that went into making the record. The 30-minute special features rehearsal and studio footage, and interviews with Springsteen and Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, who contributed heavily to the record.

'High Hopes' is a bit of an oddity in the Springsteen catalog. It is comprised mostly of songs Springsteen left off albums over the past 12 years, with a few covers and re-worked versions of live favorites thrown in. Nonetheless, it has hit No. 1 in 20 countries.

Springsteen just wrapped up a month of shows of the Southern Hemisphere. He will begin a five-week arena tour of the United States on April 8 in Cincinnati. He will also headline a free concert in downtown Dallas as part of the NCAA's March Madness Music Festival.
