Celebrity psychologist Dr. Joyce Brothers died yesterday. She was 85. There's no word yet on the cause of death.

Joyce was the ORIGINAL pop psychologist, kind of the prototype for Dr. Phil and Dr. Drew, except that people actually LIKED her.

She appeared in tons of movies and TV shows, both as herself and in character. She was on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" almost 100 times. She was also a prolific author and columnist.

Brothers first rose to fame in the late 1950s, when she appeared on both "The $64,000 Question" and "The $64,000 Challenge" and WON THEM BOTH.

This was around the time of the infamous "Quiz Show" cheating scandals, but she was exonerated of any wrongdoing.
