Concert Organizers In London Cut Off Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney’s Mics Because of a Curfew

On Saturday night, Bruce Springsteen held a concert for around 80,000 fans in Hyde Park in London.  The concert was supposed to end at 10:30 P.M. but Bruce kept going and called Paul McCartney on stage to perform with him.

Bruce and Paul performed two Beatles songs: ‘I Saw Her Standing There’ and ‘Twist and Shout’…then they went to thank the crowd and maybe do another duet.  But they couldn’t . . . because their MICS had been CUT OFF.

The concert organizers said they have a strict noise curfew, which Bruce passed by more than a half hour.  So they decided to cut the mics, quote, “right at the very end of the night . . . in the interest of the public’s health and safety.”

Hyde Park is surrounded by some of London’s richest neighborhoods and several residents complain about concerts in the park.  Next year, local officials will cut down from 13 concerts to nine, and from an 80,000 fan limit to 65,000.

Bruce’s guitar player, Steven Van Zandt, blasted the decision.  Quote, “English cops may be the only individuals left on Earth that wouldn’t want to hear one more from Bruce Springsteen and Paul McCartney!”

“On a Saturday night!  Who were we disturbing?”

Here’s a video of Bruce and Paul performing.  After the song ends, you can see the mics got cut and you can’t hear the guitars or what Bruce is saying into the mic.
