Elton John Did Ten Shows with a Burst Appendix!

Elton John has postponed all of his upcoming tour dates in Europe due to APPENDICITIS . . . and says he performed ten shows with a BURST appendix.

Yesterday, he told the website Showbiz411, quote, "[I've] done nine concerts and our Summer Ball with a burst appendix.  I am SO lucky."

If you're like most people, you probably thought you die within HOURS if your appendix bursts...which CAN happen.

But apparently it's somewhat common now for doctors to treat a burst appendix with antibiotics first, and WAIT to do surgery.  (Here's an interesting article about it.)

According to Elton's rep, he'll have his appendix removed in the next few weeks, and he'll start making up the tour dates starting in early September.
