Llano Estacado Winery – 19th Annual Grape Day

Llano Estacado Winery will celebrate 36 years of Texas winemaking at the 19^th annual Grape Day Celebration, Saturday October 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Grape Day is a celebration of the grape harvest and the conclusion of the crush, which continues from late July to early September.  Patrons will enjoy self-guided tours, art booths, local vendors, food, a bounce house for kids, the largest screen in Lubbock to watch college football games, and live music from local favorite Bo Garza and friends.

With more than 2,000 attending each year, Grape Day is the largest festival held at the winery. Guests will be able to purchase more than 20 Llano wines by the glass. Admission is $5.00 and includes a commemorative wine glass and one complimentary glass of wine. Tickets may be purchased at the door the day of the event.

President and C.E.O. of the local winery, Mark Hyman, could not be more thrilled for the event this year.

“Grape Day marks the most exciting time of the year for us here at Llano Estacado Winery,” Hyman said. “The grapes are in and the festival begins.”

Since 1976, Llano Estacado has expanded its production and reputation to become the largest producer of premium wines inTexas. The winery produces 150,000 cases annually and grows most of its grapes on the Texas High Plains within a 300-mile radius ofLubbock,Texas.

Nationally and internationally renowned, Llano Estacado Winery continues to win awards around the world and has received more than 1,000 awards for its wines to date. Most recently, the winery was honored with a Double Gold/Grand Star Winner at the 2012 Lone Star International Wine Competition for their 2008 Viviano (the 5^th time in 11 years…more than any otherTexas winery.)
