Covenant Joe Arrington Cancer Research and Treatment Center (JACC) invite the Lubbock community to the First Friday Art Trail to view an exhibit of artwork from Oncology on Canvas, an art exhibition honoring the journeys people face when confronted by a cancer diagnosis. The art will be displayed on Friday, April 1 from 6 – 9 p.m. at McPherson Cellars, 1615 Texas Avenue.

Launched in 2004, Lilly Oncology on Canvas is now showcasing art from its 2010 competition. The biennial art competition invites people from the United States and Puerto Rico diagnosed with any type of cancer – as well as their families, friends, caregivers and health care providers – to express, through art and narrative, the life-affirming changes that give their cancer journeys meaning.

This is the first time actual art from the exhibit has been displayed in Lubbock. I think your audience would really enjoy learning about this opportunity being offered in Lubbock.

Covenant Joe Arrington Cancer Research and Treatment Center to Showcase Unique Art Exhibit at First Friday Art Trail

WHO: Covenant Joe Arrington Cancer Research and Treatment Center invite the Lubbock community to the First Friday Art Trail to view an exhibit of artwork from Oncology on Canvas, an art exhibition honoring the journeys people face when confronted by a cancer diagnosis.

WHAT: Launched in 2004, Lilly Oncology on Canvas is now showcasing art from its 2010 competition.  The biennial art competition invites people from the United States and Puerto Rico diagnosed with any type of cancer – as well as their families, friends, caregivers and health care providers – to express, through art and narrative, the life-affirming changes that give their cancer journeys meaning.

The traveling exhibition of art is currently touring hospitals, cancer centers, patient advocacy group events and other venues nationwide.  This is the first time artwork from the exhibit has been shown in Lubbock.

The First Friday Art Trail is a free event held on the first Friday of every month in venues around the city. At each venue, you can experience the sights, sounds and tastes of the Art Trail. A trolley service to and from venues is offered free of charge.

WHEN: Friday, April 1 from 6-9 p.m.
