Wednesday afternoon at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park, Grand Canyon completed a two-game sweep of Texas Tech Baseball.

Wednesday's final was 10-5 GCU as Texas Tech's overall record dropped to (27-19).

The Red Raiders jumped out to a 1-0 lead after the first inning with third baseman Tanner Gardner reaching on a double to right-center field and scoring one hitter later when Stephen Smith tripled down the right-field line.

Grand Canyon used a three-run fourth inning to take a 4-1 lead.

Texas Tech then added two runs in both the bottom of the fourth and the bottom of the sixth innings to take a 5-4 lead. The runs in the sixth came after designated hitter Anthony Lyons doubled and eventually scored on Hunter Hargrove's RBI triple off the left field wall. Hargrove then came the final 90 feet by scoring on a wild pitch by reliever Mick Vorhof.

However, Vorhof ended up being the winning pitcher for GCU by pitching two innings in relief as GCU scored two runs in the top of the eighth to re-take the lead. The Antelopes scored four additional runs in the ninth to make the final deficit 10-5.

Johnathon Tripp took the loss for Tech as his record dropped to (1-1). Tripp gave up two runs in four innings pitched of relief of starter Parker Mushinski.

Texas Tech dropped Tuesday's game to GCU 5-4 and the Red Raiders start a three-game series at Texas on Friday.
