Friday afternoon, hail of up to baseball size and straightline winds of up to 70 mph caused damage in and around Slaton during a severe thunderstorm.

KFYO's Tom Collins and KAMC Morning Meteorologist Maggie Dinizio both took photos of the aftermath.

Collins caught up with Cody Gospodnetich who works at the Slaton United Supermarkets location. The damage to Gospodnetich's car is shown in the attached photo gallery. Gospodnetich told Collins that it is the second time in two years that his car has suffered damage during a hail storm.

There were no reports of any injuries in Slaton.

Meanwhile, after the storm passed through Slaton, and East Lubbock County, it moved into Crosby County dropping hail of up to baseball size and then into Dickens County, sparking a tornado warning just before 4 o'clock Friday afternoon.
