If you are traveling for the holidays and need to stay in a hotel, beware of the history of the establishment or you may find more "soul" in the joint than you had expected!

Every city has their haunted hotel. Growing up in San Antonio, our most famous one was the Emily Morgan.

This hotel is said to have not one, but many haunted floors and rooms -- even the elevator and lobby are said to have visitors from another dimension!

We then moved to Reno, Nevada which is only about 35 minutes from one of the most haunted towns in the US: Virginia City.

VC (as the locals call it) is believed to be home to so many haunts due to the number of deaths during the gold and silver rushes , brothels, gunfights and illness.

You can get a room there at the Silver Queen, but good luck getting much rest.

Here is a list of some other rather creepy places you might want to avoid if you get easily spooked by the undead.
