Mother Nature needs to chill out. At least, that's the sentiment shared by many of the thousands who held tickets for the Journey and Steve Miller Band show that was due to take place in Chicago last night, but had to be postponed because of bad weather.

This stop on the highly anticipated tour of these classic rock favorites was scheduled to take place at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre. As noted on Journey's Facebook Page, inclement weather early in the day along with what was forecasted to take place necessitated the show's postponement:

"The rain received this morning has caused flooding both in the parking lots of the venue, which completely prevents us from parking the volume of cars expected, as well as to a number of surrounding feeder streets, creating extreme difficulty in getting to the venue," the statement reads. "The National Weather Service has recently extended a flash flood watch until 1:00 pm Sunday, with a forecasted potential of one inch of rainfall per hour to start at approximately 7:00 pm. After consulting with the local police department, and keeping the safety of all visitors and staff in mind, the difficult decision to postpone the event has been made."

The statement says that the groups hope to reschedule their missed Chicago show as soon as possible.

The Journey / Steve Miller Band tour is set to resume in Kansas City on Monday evening. Tower of Power are opening the bulk of the tour's dates, and the mighty Cheap Trick will join the tour for a pair of shows in late August.
