Country singer Daron Norwood has died at the age of 49.

Norwood was found deceased inside his home in Hereford. The singer was born in Lubbock on September 30, 1965.

Norwood is probably best known for his 1994 song that broke the top 40 charts called "If It Wasn't for Her I Wouldn't Have You."

According to the report, Norwood had problems with drinking in the mid 90s, but became a motivational speaker, warning people about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.

Hereford Police Chief Brent Harrison released the following statement about Norwood's passing:

On July 22nd, 2015, at approximately 2:00 PM, officers of the Hereford Police Department, along with medical personnel were sent to the 100 block of Hereford Calle in reference to an unresponsive subject. On arrival, Daron Norwood, age 49 was found in the bedroom of the apartment, deceased. No signs of foul play were observed and the incident remains under investigation.

No cause of death has been released yet.
