Lubbock Police Officers Arrest Three for Burglary and Recover Stolen Property
The LPD has a really cool system called Nexile that alerts subscribers to accidents, busts and whatever else the Lubbock Police Department has going on. It’s free and you can sign up to receive the alerts here.
Anyway, I got the following update a minute ago:
Hi Landon King,
Early Sunday morning, Midnight Shift officers responded to the area of 11th and Slide Road reference possible shots fired. Officers located three suspects hiding in a fenced in area behind the Dollar General store. As the officers approached, two suspects ran from the officers. One was immediately caught and resisted arrest. He was eventually brought under control and taken into custody. He was identified as 17 year old Larry Flores. Another suspect, who did not flee, was located hiding in a corner of the fenced area and was taken into custody without incident. He is identified as 17 year old Matthew Reyes. After searching the area extensively, the other suspect who ran from officers was located in a nearby apartment complex and was taken into custody without incident. He is identified as 17 year old Matthew Benavidez. Officers located a large amount of property in possession of the three suspects. While on scene the victim approached officers and advised his nearby home had been broken into. The located property, which included a video game system, television, and jewelry, belonged to the victim and was stolen during the burglary. Officers also found other evidence linking the suspects to the burglary. All three suspects were arrested. It was determined no shots had been fired as the original call indicated. All three arrestees are charged with Burglary of a Habitation and Organized Crime. Flores is also charged with Evading Arrest and Resisting Arrest, and he had an outstanding arrest warrant for Theft. Benavidez is also charged with Evading Arrest and he also had an outstanding warrant for Theft.
Congratulations to the LPD for busting these jerks and congrats to the homeowners who will be getting their stuff back.
