I wanted to make sure I wrote up something about my friend Jenni Dale Lord's new album "Never Let Go." Jenni is an outstanding songwriter and musician and she's made a really terrific album -- or at least what I've heard of it!

I got the chance to hear a little bit of it before anybody else when Jenni played at the 4-Bar-K during a lunch benefit we were both doing for Susan G. Komen.

The first track I heard was "Crazy" and I was blown away! It's as good or better than anything you're going to hear on today's country radio. It really is. It also kind of has a Miranda Lambert feel to it. And I mean that as a compliment.

Another outstanding track on the album is "Lover, Don't Leave." This one reminds me of Tracy Chapman with a more bluesy feel to it. Steve Lott's guitar work is really great on this track, too.

You'll have to get the album to hear the rest. I will too since those are the only two songs I've heard. It'll be available on October 28.

You can hear some of the songs below and like Jenni's Facebook page for more info.

Good job, Jenni!
