Mickey 'Guitar' Baker has passed away. He's the musician who wrote and recorded the '50s hit 'Love Is Strange', which got big again in the '80s when it showed up on the 'Dirty Dancing' soundtrack.

Here's that song:

Baker was a successful session guitarist. He provided the guitar riffs on Ike and Tina Turner's 'It's Gonna Work Out Fine' and Joe Turner's 'Shake, Rattle and Roll', among others.

Baker moved to France in the mid 1960s where he remained until his death. The guitarist's former singing partner, Sylvia Robinson, died last year.
