Midland High School Teacher Busted for Meth

Forty-seven-year-old Theresa Renee Stroud is now in federal custody for transporting and distributing methamphetamine.

CBS 7 reports that Stroud and her husband, 52-year-old Stacy Stroud, were arrested over the weekend by Drug Enforcement Administration agents.

Theresa Renee Stroud was a teacher at Midland Lee High School until she resigned Monday morning. According to the DEA, there's no indication that Stroud was selling drugs to students.

Midland ISD released a statement following the teacher's arrest.

"MISD was made aware of the arrest of Lee High School teacher, Mrs. Theresa Stroud, over the weekend," said Dr. Ryder Warren with Midland ISD. "I have accepted a resignation from Mrs. Stroud this morning, so she is no longer an employee of the district."
