Less than a week before the general election, numerous law enforcement agencies endorsed Greg Abbott's gubernatorial campaign on Thursday.

Some of the police associations endorsing Abbott include: El Paso, Brownsville, Houston, San Angelo and San Antonio.

“As attorney general, Greg Abbott has worked closely with law enforcement to strengthen our anti-gang and anti-human trafficking laws and combat dangerous crimes that threaten our communities,” Brownsville Police Officers’ Association President Kurt Hines said. “He has a history of fighting for the concerns of the Brownsville law enforcement community, and we know we can trust Greg Abbott to continue this commitment as governor.”

Abbott, and fellow Republican, Dan Patrick are leading in many major polls in their races for governor, and lieutenant governor, respectively. Abbott is running against Democrat Wendy Davis and Patrick is running against Democrat Leticia Van de Putte.
