On This Day – John Lennon ‘Rattles’ The Queen

On this day in 1963, the Beatles played a Royal Command Performance in front of British royalty in London. This was the show where John Lennon said, “Will people in the cheaper seats clap your hands? All the rest of you, if you’ll just rattle your jewelry.”

The queen was reportedly impressed with the Liverpool Lads. Although one YouTube comment said it best: ‘The Beatles´╗┐ didn’t meet queen mother, The queen mother met The Beatles.’
