Paul McCartney Hits the Hub on October 2nd!

Legendary musical artist Paul McCartney will perform in concert at Texas Tech’s United Spirit Arena on October 2nd!

City of Lubbock and Texas Tech University officials made the official announcement at a press conference Wednesday morning at the Buddy Holly Center.

During the press conference Mayor Glen Robertson said, “He reached out and said I want to play in the hometown of Buddy Holly.” How cool is that?!?!

The 71 year-old musician was a member of The Beatles, founded the group Wings in 1971 and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in March of 1997.

Of course, Lubbock’s own Buddy Holly was a HUGE influence on McCartney. Here’s a video where he talks a little about Buddy…
