Lubbock Christian University today announced a February event featuring Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton. The event, “Heart and Soul of Baseball” will take place February 14, 7pm at LCU’s Moody Auditorium.

“Heart and Soul of Baseball” will feature Josh and his wife, Katie Hamilton, talking about the challenges Josh has faced in his life and the role Christ has played in it.

“The story of Josh Hamilton’s life is something that is an inspiration to all of us who believe that a strong faith in God can help to change lives,” said LCU President, Dr. L. Ken Jones. “His athletic ability is rather obvious, but the battles that he’s endured during his life and the struggles he’s experienced are a vivid illustration that faith and belief in God can carry us through all types of adversity. We’re honored that he will be spending time on our campus to share his story with our community.”

Hamilton helped lead the Texas Rangers to their first-ever World Series appearance in 2010 and he was named 2010 American League MVP by the Baseball Writers Association of America.

I think this will be an incredible event and if you plan on attending, you’ll want to contact LCU as soon as you can, because tickets are expected to sell out very quickly.

To obtain tickets, or purchase sponsorships for the event, contact LCU at (806) 720-7219 or by e-mailing terri.warren@lcu.edu.
