This week’s AAA Texas Gas Watch was released Thursday morning and it was good news for those driving over Spring Break.  The average price for self-serve regular unleaded in Texas is $2.25 a gallon, unchanged from last week. The national average price is $2.44 a gallon, down one cent from last week.

The most expensive gas in the state is in Dallas, averaging $2.27 a gallon. Many Lubbock gas stations have self-serve regular unleaded priced around $2.24 a gallon.

“Spring Breakers taking road trips will definitely see a savings at the pumps compared to last year which will give them more money to spend on other parts of their trips,” said AAA Texas/New Mexico Representative Doug Shupe.  “As people drive to warmer destinations and take a much needed break from school and work, we remind them to always wear their seatbelts, don’t drive distracted, drowsy or after drinking any amount of alcohol.”
