Ruidoso Downs has announced the hiring of a racing integrity official.  Dennis Monroe’s official title will be Racing Integrity Liaison and Ruidoso Downs General Manager Shaun Hubbard says Monroe will maintain relationships with various commissions and associations, including the New Mexico Racing Commission.

Monroe will also keep track of when horses arrive at Ruidoso Downs, where they are stabled and their status while at the track.

Monroe is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in animal science. He managed the veterinary supply for the largest animal health distributor in the Southeast, served two years on the Ruidoso Downs’ horsemen’s committee, was a five-time number-one real estate broker in New Mexico, trained cutting and reining horses, and still maintains a beef cattle operation in Alabama.

Ruidoso Downs 2015 horse racing season starts May 22nd.
