The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather advisory beginning tonight for Lubbock and most of West Texas.

Their forecast calls for areas of freezing drizzle and possibly light snow  expected to develop Tuesday and persist into Wednesday.  Freezing drizzle could become significant enough to cause travel problems across the areas.  Temperatures are expected to be in the teens and 20's both days.

Additionally, freezing rain, sleet and snow are expected Thursday night and Friday.  Temps are expected to warm by then, but remain cold enough to cause some travel problems early in the New Year.

Having all that said, it's even more important to not drink and drive over this holiday week.  Not only could you get a DUI and land in jail, but you could have an accident, possibly hurting or killing yourself or someone else.

Call a ride: Uber, Yellow Cab, and Citibus.
