The man involved in an armed confrontation last weekend with Lubbock Police has been transferred from University Medical Center to the Lubbock County Jail.

Fifty-year-old Martin Salazar Hernandez was armed with a metal baseball bat and a knife outside of the Overton Walmart last Saturday.

When police arrived on the scene, they tried to convince Hernandez to drop his weapons. Hernandez refused.

Police dashcam video showed Hernandez being shot by police with non-lethal beanbag rounds from a shotgun. He was also tased. Hernandez's left eye was injured during the incident as he was arrested.

Police transferred Hernandez from UMC to the county jail on Monday. He has been charged with second-degree felony aggravated assault. Bond has been set at $250,000.
