Harrison Ford was a guest on last night's 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' to promote his movie '42' and naturally the discussion came around to 'Star Wars: Episode 7' and the future of the franchise. Ford tried to stay mum and say he couldn't talk about anything 'Star Wars,' but when he agreed to some questions from the audience, things got heated and Ford walked off the set. For whatever reason, 'Star Wars' fans petitioned the White House wanting the United States to make a Death Star. That the country our the government has no interest in making one is no surprise. On the White House's website there is a "We The People" section, which allows citizens to "petition the Obama Administration to take action on a range of important issues facing our country." If any submitted petition gets 25,000 E-signatures, then the White House will review the proposal.

Our favorite of these petitions this month has to be from Colorado man “John D" who, as we reported last week, wants the government to secure resources and funding to begin the construction of a Death Star by 2016.

As you have surely heard, Disney bought Lucasfilm yesterday and promptly announced there would be three more Star Wars movies, with 'Episode VII' coming out in 2015.

The latest trilogy is going to pick up where 'Return of The Jedi' left off, meaning Luke, Han and Leia will all (presumably) be back. Of course the actors who played those roles will be 32 years older than they were when 'Return of the Jedi' came out so we don't think they will be cast again, outside of possible flashforward scenes.

The geekosphere was rocked today with the announcement that Disney has purchased Lucasfilm, the home of 'Star Wars,' for $4 billion. If that wasn't enough to inspire "Goofy shot first" jokes, Disney also announced plans to release a new 'Star Wars' movie in 2015 which will not be written or directed by George Lucas. (The creator fans love to hate will stay on in a creative consultant capacity.)

But fans of both "a galaxy far, far away" and The Mouse House have been creating awesome mash-up artwork as long as the internet (or at least DeviantArt) has been around.

Back in January, a filmmaker named Casey Pugh finally released the finished version of a shot-for-shot remake of 'Star Wars' he'd been working on since 2009.

If you don't remember it, he had hundreds of FANS shoot different scenes from it however they wanted to, then took 473 clips and combined them. And he ended up winning an EMMY for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media.
