The second round of this week's winter weather hit Lubbock and the South Plains Friday (Jan. 2) afternoon. Heavy freezing rainfall totals were recorded east of Lubbock, including 1 inch in Spur and 0.9 of an inch in Guthrie.
I caught some video of my drive float into the office today just to show how deep water can be on access and side roads. I wondered: 'Why is drainage so bad here?' Obviously, as evidenced by a quick Google search, I'm not alone in this long-standing complaint about the city of Lubbock and our drainage system -- or lack thereof.
I used to work at a local TV station and let me tell you ...All we did was play tricks on each other...well I tried scaring people which didn't work but everybody scared me so I know how Kristi feels! Its really a good time, but you have to check out what happens to this Meteorologist.
With cold weather creating dangerous conditions this week, The Salvation Army will reach out to individuals staying on the streets and those without heat to make sure all have are sheltered from the cold
