Friday morning, the Texas Tech Red Raider Baseball team was honored at the State Capitol in Austin.

Last season, Texas Tech Baseball had their best season in program history, advancing to the College World Series.

The team was hosted at the capitol by State Representatives Dustin Burrows and John Frullo and State Senator Charles Perry, all of Lubbock.

Rep. Burrows authored House Resolution 1956 honoring head coach Tim Tadlock and the Red Raiders for the program’s historic run to the 2014 College World Series.

The team was also greeted by former Red Raider pitcher, State Representative Phil Stephenson, from Wharton. Stephenson was Tech’s starting pitcher in the Red Raiders’ first-ever Southwest Conference game in 1968 at Texas. In addition, Stephenson’s 1967 ERA of 2.00 remains ninth-best for a starting pitcher in school history.

After being honored at the Capitol, the Red Raiders get back to business Friday night as they start a three-game series at Texas. Friday's game is at 6pm, Saturday's game is at 2pm and Sunday's game is at 1pm and all three games will be televised on the Longhorn Network (LHN).
