Texas Tech University’s Cross-Cultural Academic Advancement Center is holding a candlelight vigil to remember the fallen victims of the recent South Carolina church shooting.

The vigil will be held Thursday, June 25 at 8:30 p.m. at Texas Tech's Memorial Circle. The entire Lubbock community is invited.

Nine people lost their lives during the June 17 shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal in Charleston, South Carolina, including State Senator Clementa Pinckney.

One day later, authorities captured Dylann Storm Roof, the 21-year-old man believed to have entered the church and opened fire.
