Ever since the reality TV phenomenon kicked into gear, there's been less of a focus on SCRIPTED programming, at least in the traditional sense.  But for anyone who prefers stuff that's actually WRITTEN, this is for you:

The Writers Guild of America has compiled a list of 'The 101 Best-Written TV Shows of All Time'.  They gave "The Sopranos" the #1 spot.

Here's the Top 20:

3.  "The Twilight Zone", CBS  (1959-1964)  (It doesn't include the revivals.)

4.  "All in the Family", CBS  (1971-1979)

6.  "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", CBS  (1970-1977)

7.  "Mad Men", AMC  (2007-Present)

8.  "Cheers", NBC  (1982-1993)

10.  "The West Wing", NBC  (1999-2006)

11.  "The Simpsons", Fox  (1989-Present)

12.  "I Love Lucy", CBS  (1951-1957)
