The next time you break wind, and the people around you give you a hard time, here’s your new excuse: You’re just trying to keep your blood pressure down.

There’s a new study out of Southeast University in Nanjing, China that found passing gas just might be a cure for high blood pressure.

Researchers found that the hydogen sulfide you release when you pass gas is produced by an enzyme in your blood vessels. That enzyme helps your blood vessels relax, which lowers your blood pressure. Wow who knew!
