Join Kool FM and help send a war vet to Washington DC! This Saturday and Sunday, the South Plains Honor Flight in cooperation with the Green Queens will be collecting clothing and old electronic equipment to help aid in our community effort to honor our veterans.

From 10am 4pm each day, bring old clothing, shoes, back packs, hand bags, linens and towels, soft and hard toys… anything that is textile! Also your old electronics will help us. They don’t have to work.

No TV’s Please.

Gather up your old cell phones, computers, appliances, anything with a cord and bring it to the South Plains Mall west parking lot by Home Depot, near loop 289 this Saturday and Sunday.

The South Plains Honor Flight will fly this October with your help so take a little time to gather up clothing and old electronics and bring it to the South Plains Mall this Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM to 4 PM both days. Donations are tax deductable.

The South Plains Honor Flight will include a three-day, two-night trip to visit many special sites in Washington, including the WWII Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam Wall, Marine Corps (Iwo Jima) Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Air Force Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Navy Memorial, and the U. S. Capitol.

 

Day one:

Flag line reception and send off – Lubbock Preston Smith International airport
Arrive Washington D.C. – reception – welcome from Military and Dignitaries
Visit WWII and Korean Memorials – wreath laying ceremonies
Dinner – Sequoia’s on Potomac
U.S. Air Force Memorial

Day two:

Visit Marine Corps Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, FDR Memorial, US Navy Seabee Memorial – wreath laying ceremonies at each

Day three:

Viet Nam Wall – wreath and flag ceremony
US Navy Memorial
Tour U.S. Capitol and House of Representatives
Return to Lubbock
