In addition to his 32 Billboard Hot 100 Charting hits, many of his songs have been international smashes. More than 300 artists have covered his music, and it has appeared in 27 major motion pictures and current TV shows, including the AMC hit “Breaking Bad,” FOX’s “The Simpsons” and “Criminal Minds” on CBS. At the beginning of 2013, BMI lauded him for his success with the presentation of five Million-Air Awards. To date, his music has played more than 21 million times over the air, and the international popularity has led to a global distribution deal with Allegro.

In partnership with Allegro, James will release his first vinyl record in more than 20 years this fall. The limited collectors edition of his 2010 holiday album, “I LOVE CHRISTMAS,” features the original Shondells reunited on the title track.

In 2010, James penned the bestselling autobiography, “Me, the Mob and the Music.” The book, which Rolling Stone ranked among “The 25 Greatest Rock Memoirs Of All Time,” tells the story of his tumultuous relationship with Morris Levy, the head of Roulette Records, a ‘front’ for the Genovese crime family in New York. It also provides a unique perspective on the history of rock and roll music. The memoir has earned James high praise from critics and industry insiders and will be a major motion picture, produced by Barbara De Fina, who also produced “Good Fellas,” “Casino” and “Cape Fear.”

His speaking engagements at New York University’s Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music, Rutgers University and William-Patterson University, among others, have generated another fan base with students around the country. He is also writing new songs geared toward film and television, which is another project in development for his company, Aura Entertainment.

Tommy James’ career has spanned nearly 50 years, and it continues to evolve, always accompanied by music that is timeless. For more information, please visit tommyjames.com, Facebook.com/TJandtheShondells or follow him on Twitter at twitter.com/TJShondells.
