TxDOT to Close Milwaukee Ave. as Lubbock Construction Continues

Milwaukee Avenue at the Marsha Sharp Freeway will be closed Wednesday, August 19 as TxDOT begins their latest round of construction. 

The closure of Milwaukee in both directions will start bright and early at 3 a.m. Wednesday as TxDOT contractors will be working on concrete paving for the intersection.

For the duration of the project, northbound traffic will be detoured to Spur 327 and South Loop 289, while southbound traffic will be detoured to Upland Avenue.

Late Wednesday afternoon, a limited number of lanes on Milwaukee Avenue will re-open. But with traffic being cut down down to a few lanes, you should expect delays if commuting through the construction area.
