Video Killed the Radio Star
So, what’s the secret, the mystique that keeps guys like me employed? There are probably as many answers to that question as there are people. Local radio is personal. Its somewhere you can go that brings back memories, stirs up emotions, or gives one escape from the day to day. It’s white noise when you’re home alone or a soft place to fall when you’re just…alone. It’s a place in which everyone belongs. A place that transcends social, relationship, financial, religious, or political status. A haven to music lovers of every age. It may actually be the only pleasure in life that can claim that. Well I would think that the internet could claim that too. I mean after all, you’re reading this, right?
There is something to be said for the feeling one gets when you turn on the radio and hear an old familiar voice or your favorite tune from back in the day. There’s just nothing like it! And though there is much thought, market research, and many people behind the scenes…the truth is that it’s you, the listener that keeps radio alive and kicking. And for that I am eternally grateful and hey, thanks for listening.
